QUICK LESSONS:
Pray two Rak'ats per Prayer
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith tells us about the Prophet Muhammad's stay in Mecca, during which he prayed two rak'ats for each prayer. A rak’ah is a unit of prayer that consists of standing, bowing, prostrating and sitting. It is important to note that the Prophet Muhammad was an example to all Muslims and his actions should be followed as closely as possible. This hadith teaches us that we should strive to pray two rak’ats for each prayer if we can manage it, as this was what the Prophet did during his stay in Mecca. We should also remember that even though praying two rak’ats is encouraged, it is not mandatory; one can still fulfill their religious obligations by praying one or three rak’ats per prayer instead.
