QUICK LESSONS:
Show respect when greeting others.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how Ibn Umar used to greet the son of Ja'far. He would say “Assalam 'Alaika” which means “peace be upon you” and then he would add “O the son of two-winged person”. This shows that Ibn Umar respected and honored Ja'far's son, as he was referring to him as a two-winged person, which is a metaphor for someone who has been blessed with both knowledge and faith. It also teaches us that we should always show respect when greeting others, no matter who they are or what their background may be.
