Asking for a Share of Booty

SUMMARY: The hadith is about Abu Huraira asking the Prophet (ﷺ) for a share from the Khaibar booty, and Sa'id's son objecting to it.

Narrated 'Anbasa bin Sa'id: Abu Huraira came to the Prophet and asked him (for a share from the Khaibar booty). On that, one of the sons of Sa'id bin Al-'As said to him, "O Allah's Messenger ! Do not give him". Abu Huraira then said (to the Prophet ) "This is the murderer of Ibn Qauqal". Sa'id's son said, "How strange! A guinea pig coming from Qadum Ad-Dan!"

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about Abu Huraira asking the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ for a share from the Khaibar booty. When he asked, one of Sa’id bin Al-'As’s sons objected to it and called him a guinea pig coming from Qadum Ad-Dan. This shows us that we should not be jealous or envious when someone else gets something that we don't have. We should also not insult people in any way as this is disrespectful and wrong. We should always be kind and generous towards others even if they get something that we don't have ourselves. It also teaches us to be humble and grateful for what we do have instead of being jealous or envious of what others may have more than us.
