Pledging Allegiance for Death in the Cause of Islam

SUMMARY: Salama bin Al-Akwa' pledged allegiance to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) on the day of Al-Hudaibiya, pledging to die in the cause of Islam.

Narrated Yazid bin Abi Ubaid: I said to Salama bin Al-Akwa', "For what did you give the Pledge of allegiance to Allah's Messenger on the day of Al-Hudaibiya?" He replied, "For death (in the Cause of Islam).
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمٌ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ، قَالَ قُلْتُ لِسَلَمَةَ بْنِ الأَكْوَعِ عَلَى أَىِّ شَىْءٍ بَايَعْتُمْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ‏.‏ قَالَ عَلَى الْمَوْتِ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
On the day of Al-Hudaibiya, Salama bin Al-Akwa' gave a pledge to Allah's Messenger ﷺ that he would be willing to die in the cause of Islam. This hadith highlights how important it is for Muslims to be willing and ready to sacrifice their lives for their faith and religion. It also shows how devoted and loyal Muslims should be towards Allah's Messenger ﷺ and his teachings. The hadith also teaches us that we should always strive towards fulfilling our promises no matter what it takes or what obstacles come our way.
