Blessing Charity Givers

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) would bless those who brought charity to him and ask Allah to show them mercy.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Abi 'Aufa: (Who was one of those who had given the Pledge of allegiance to the Prophet beneath the Tree) When the people brought Sadaqa (ie rak'at) to the Prophet he used to say, "O Allah! Bless them with your Mercy". Once my father came with his Sadaqa to him whereupon he (ie the Prophet) said".O Allah! Bless the family of Abu 'Aufa".
حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ بْنُ أَبِي إِيَاسٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي أَوْفَى ـ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الشَّجَرَةِ ـ قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ إِذَا أَتَاهُ قَوْمٌ بِصَدَقَةٍ قَالَ ‏"‏ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ ‏"‏‏.‏ فَأَتَاهُ أَبِي بِصَدَقَتِهِ فَقَالَ ‏"‏ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى آلِ أَبِي أَوْفَى
