Sahih al-Bukhari 4119 (Book 64, Hadith 163) #3938
Praying at the Place of Banu Quraiza

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) instructed his followers to pray at the place of Banu Quraiza, but some of them prayed on the way due to confusion.

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: On the day of Al-Ahzab (ie Clans) the Prophet said, "None of you Muslims) should offer the 'Asr prayer but at Banu Quraiza's place". The 'Asr prayer became due for some of them on the way. Some of those said, "We will not offer it till we reach it, the place of Banu Quraiza," while some others said, "No, we will pray at this spot, for the Prophet did not mean that for us". Later on It was mentioned to the Prophet and he did not berate any of the two groups.

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow instructions from Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , Seek clarification when confused or uncertain , Have good intentions even when making mistakes .

EXPLANATIONS:
On the day of Al-Ahzab, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ instructed his followers to offer their Asr prayer at the place of Banu Quraiza. However, some Muslims were confused and thought that they could offer their prayer on their way there. When this was mentioned to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ he did not reprimand either group for their actions. This hadith teaches us that it is important to follow instructions given by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and if we are confused about something we should ask for clarification instead of making assumptions. It also teaches us that even if someone makes a mistake out of confusion or misunderstanding they will not be reprimanded as long as they have good intentions and seek clarification when needed.
