Praying for Divine Intervention

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) prayed to Allah to defeat and shake the clans.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Abi 'Aufa: Allah's Messenger invoked evil upon the clans saying, "Allah, the Revealer of the Holy Book (ie the Qur'an), the Quick Taker of the accounts! Please defeat the clans. O Allah! Defeat them and shake them".
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَزَارِيُّ، وَعَبْدَةُ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي أَوْفَى ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ يَقُولُ دَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ عَلَى الأَحْزَابِ فَقَالَ ‏ "‏ اللَّهُمَّ مُنْزِلَ الْكِتَابِ، سَرِيعَ الْحِسَابِ، اهْزِمِ الأَحْزَابَ، اللَّهُمَّ اهْزِمْهُمْ وَزَلْزِلْهُمْ
