Ibn 'Umar's First Battle

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the first battle that Ibn 'Umar participated in.

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: The first day (ie Ghazwa) I participated in, was the day of Al-Khandaq (ie Trench).
حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ـ هُوَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ـ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ أَوَّلُ يَوْمٍ شَهِدْتُهُ يَوْمُ الْخَنْدَقِ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the first battle that Ibn 'Umar participated in. It was a battle known as Al-Khandaq or the Trench which took place during the time of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. This event was significant because it was a defensive war where Muslims were outnumbered and outmatched by their enemies but they still managed to win due to their faith and trust in Allah SWT. This hadith teaches us that we should always have faith in Allah SWT no matter how difficult our situation may be and He will help us overcome any obstacle we face. It also teaches us to never give up hope even when things seem impossible because with Allah SWT anything is possible.
