The Rewards of Charity

SUMMARY: Allah rewards those who give in charity and punishes those who withhold it.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah said, "Everyday two angels descend and one of them says, 'O Allah! Compensate (more) to the person who gives (in charity)'; while the other one says, 'O Allah! Destroy the one who withholds (charity, etc)". Al-Bukhari and Muslim.
وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال‏:‏ قال رسول الله ‏:‏ ‏ "‏ ما من يوم يصبح العباد فيه إلا ملكان ينزلان فيقول أحدهما‏:‏ اللهم أعط منفقاً خلفاً، ويقول الآخر‏:‏ اللهم أعط ممسكاً تلفاً‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏متفق عليه‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of giving in charity. According to this hadith, two angels descend from heaven every day and one of them says that Allah will reward those who give in charity while the other angel says that Allah will punish those who withhold it. Giving in charity is an important part of Islam as it helps to spread wealth among people and also brings blessings from Allah. It is a way for us to show our gratitude towards Him for all His blessings. Furthermore, this hadith teaches us that we should not be stingy with our wealth but rather use it to help others in need and thus gain the pleasure of Allah.
