EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the trial of wealth and how it affects the Muslim nation. It is narrated by Ka'b bin 'Iyad who was a companion of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ said that every nation has its own trials and tribulations but for his ummah or nation, it is wealth. This means that having too much money can lead to people becoming arrogant and forgetting their duties towards Allah SWT and His creation. It can also lead to people neglecting their religious obligations such as prayer and charity which are essential in Islam. Therefore, this hadith serves as a reminder to Muslims to be mindful of their wealth and use it in ways that will benefit them in this life as well as the hereafter.
