Taking Precautions and Protecting Allah's Commodity

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the importance of being on guard and taking precautions to protect oneself from the enemy. It also emphasizes that Allah's commodity, which is Jannah, is precious.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard Messenger of Allah saying, "He who is afraid of the pillage of the enemy, sets out in the early part of the night; and he who sets out early, reaches his destination. Be on your guard that the commodity of Allah is precious. Verily the commodity of Allah is Jannah". At-Tirmidhi, who classified it as Hadith Hasan.
وعن أبي هريرة، رضي الله عنه، قال‏:‏ قال رسول الله، ‏ "‏من خاف أدلج ، ومن أدلج، بلغ المنزل، ألا إن سلعة الله غالية، إلا إن سلعة الله الجنة‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه الترمذي وقال‏:‏ حديث حسن‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith encourages us to take precautions in order to protect ourselves from our enemies. We should set out early in the night, known as Istiqra', so that we can reach our destination safely. Furthermore, it reminds us that Allah's commodity is precious and it is Jannah. We should always be on guard and take care of what belongs to Allah so that we can reap its rewards in this life and hereafter.
