Visiting Angels and Allah's Command

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) asked Jibril (Gabriel) why he does not visit them more often, and the answer was revealed in the form of an ayah from Allah.

Ibn 'Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Prophet said to Jibril (Gabriel), "What prevents you from visiting us more frequently?" Thereupon was revealed the Ayah: "(The angels say:) 'And we (angels) descend not except by the Command of your Rabb. To Him belongs what is before us and what is behind us, and what is between those two". (19:64) Al- Bukhari.

This hadith is about a conversation between Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and Jibril or Gabriel. The Prophet ﷺ asked why Jibril did not visit them more often and the answer was revealed in an ayah from Allah which states that angels only descend by His command. This hadith teaches us that everything we do should be done according to God's will as He is in control of all things. It also reminds us to always seek guidance from Him before making any decisions or taking any actions as He knows what is best for us. Furthermore, it shows us how important it is to have faith in God's plan even when we don't understand it fully because He knows what lies ahead for us better than anyone else does.
