Separating Arms While Praying

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) used to separate his arms from his body while praying, so much so that the whiteness of his armpits was visible.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Malik: Ibn Buhaina, "When the Prophet prayed, he used to separate his arms from his body so widely that the whiteness of his armpits was visible".

QUICK LESSONS:
Maintain proper etiquette during prayer , Follow Sunnah , Respect towards Allah SWT .

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by 'Abdullah bin Malik Ibn Buhaina states that when the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ prayed, he used to separate his arms from his body widely enough for the whiteness of his armpits to be visible. This suggests that one should maintain a wide posture while praying and keep their arms away from their body. This is important as it allows one to focus on their prayer and not be distracted by any other thoughts or movements. It also serves as a reminder for Muslims to maintain proper etiquette during prayer and ensure they are in a state of humility before Allah SWT.

The hadith also teaches us about the importance of following the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet ﷺ in all aspects of life, including prayer. By following in His footsteps, we can strive towards becoming better Muslims and increase our faith in Allah SWT. Furthermore, this hadith serves as an example for us on how we should conduct ourselves during prayer; with humility and respect towards Allah SWT at all times.
