QUICK LESSONS:
Follow justice and fairness in all matters of life. Give equal rewards regardless of effort put in by individuals or groups.

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was known for his fairness and justice. He demonstrated this by sending a detachment of soldiers to the Banu Lahyan tribe and promising them that both those who went and those who stayed would receive the same reward. This hadith teaches us about equality; no matter what task we are given or how much effort we put in, everyone should be rewarded equally. It also teaches us about justice; even if someone is unable to do something due to circumstances beyond their control, they should still not be penalized for it. Finally, it teaches us about generosity; even if someone does not contribute as much as others do, they should still be rewarded fairly for their efforts.
