The Prohibition of Flicking Pebbles

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) prohibited flicking pebbles with the index finger and thumb as it can cause harm to oneself or others.

'Abdullah bin Mughaffal (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah prohibited flicking pebbles by the index finger and the thumb; and he said, "It does not kill a game animal nor does it inflict wound on the enemy, but breaks the tooth and gorges the eye". Al-Bukhari and Muslim.
الحادي عشر‏:‏ عن أبي سعيد عبد الله بن مغفل، رضي الله عنه ، قال‏:‏ نهى رسول الله، عن الخذف وقال‏:‏ ‏ "‏إنه لا يقتل الصيد، ولا ينكأ العدو، وإنه يفقأ العين، ويكسر السن‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏متفق عليه‏)‏‏)‏
