Sahih al-Bukhari 4031 (Book 64, Hadith 80) #3855
Destruction of Date-Palm Trees by Allah's Messenger

SUMMARY: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) destroyed the date-palm trees of Bani Al-Nadir, and Allah revealed a verse in response to this action.

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: Allah's Messenger had the date-palm trees of Bani Al-Nadir burnt and cut down at a place called Al- Buwaira. Allah then revealed: "What you cut down of the date-palm trees (of the enemy) Or you left them standing on their stems. It was by Allah's Permission". (59:5)

QUICK LESSONS:
Trusting God’s will, relying on Him for outcomes/results etc., following orders from Prophet Muhammad ﷺ .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about an incident that happened during the time of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The people of Bani Al Nadir were enemies of Muslims and they had to be punished for their actions. So, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ ordered his companions to cut down all the date palm trees belonging to them. When this was done, Allah revealed a verse in response which said that whatever was done was with His permission. This teaches us that even if we are faced with difficult situations or enemies, we should always remember that everything happens according to God’s will and plan and He is in control at all times. We should not take matters into our own hands but instead trust Him completely for any outcome or result.
