Steps Towards the Mosque Rewarded

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) encouraged the Banu Salimah tribe to stay in their homes and reminded them that their steps towards the mosque will be rewarded.

Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The tribe Banu Salimah wanted to move nearer to the mosque. On learning this Messenger of Allah said to them, "I heard that you intend to move nearer to the mosque". They said, "That is so, O Messenger of Allah, we do want to do that". He said, "O Banu Salimah, keep to your homes, your steps (to the mosque) are recorded". Muslim. Another narration says: "There is for every step (towards the mosque) a degree (of reward) for you". Muslim.

QUICK LESSONS:
Make an effort in worshipping Allah even if you cannot physically go to a mosque or perform certain rituals due to circumstances beyond your control .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how Muslims should approach worshiping Allah. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was informing the Banu Salimah tribe that even if they are not able to go to the mosque for prayer or other religious activities, they will still receive a reward from Allah for taking steps towards it. He was reminding them that every step taken towards worshipping Allah is recorded and will be rewarded accordingly. This hadith teaches us that we should strive to make an effort in our worship of Allah even if we cannot physically go to a mosque or perform certain rituals due to circumstances beyond our control. We can still receive rewards from Him by making an effort and having faith in Him.
