This hadith is about the confirmation of a narration from Itban bin Malik by Al-Husain bin Muhammad. Ibn Shihab asked Al-Husain, who was one of the sons of Salim and one of the nobles amongst them, to confirm this narration which was told by Mahmud bin Ar Rabi. Al Husain confirmed it and thus this hadith was narrated. This hadith teaches us that we should always seek knowledge and verify it before accepting it as truth.
