Confirmation of a Narration

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the confirmation of a narration from Itban bin Malik by Al-Husain bin Muhammad.

Narrated Ibn Shihab: I asked Al-Husain bin Muhammad who was one of the sons of Salim and one of the nobles amongst them, about the narration of Mahmud bin Ar-Rabi 'from 'Itban bin Malik, and he confirmed it.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ ـ هُوَ ابْنُ صَالِحٍ ـ حَدَّثَنَا عَنْبَسَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ، قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ ثُمَّ سَأَلْتُ الْحُصَيْنَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ ـ وَهْوَ أَحَدُ بَنِي سَالِمٍ وَهْوَ مِنْ سَرَاتِهِمْ ـ عَنْ حَدِيثِ، مَحْمُودِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ عِتْبَانَ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، فَصَدَّقَةُ‏.‏

This hadith is about the confirmation of a narration from Itban bin Malik by Al-Husain bin Muhammad. Ibn Shihab asked Al-Husain, who was one of the sons of Salim and one of the nobles amongst them, to confirm this narration which was told by Mahmud bin Ar Rabi.
