Praising Warriors of Badr

SUMMARY: Ali praised Sahl bin Hunaif for being a warrior of Badr.

Narrated Ibn Maqal: 'Ali led the funeral prayer of Sahl bin Hunaif and said, "He was one of the warriors of Badr".
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، قَالَ أَنْفَذَهُ لَنَا ابْنُ الأَصْبَهَانِيِّ سَمِعَهُ مِنِ ابْنِ مَعْقِلٍ، أَنَّ عَلِيًّا ـ رضى الله عنه ـ كَبَّرَ عَلَى سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّهُ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
Ali led the funeral prayer of Sahl bin Hunaif and praised him for being one of the warriors in the Battle of Badr. The Battle of Badr was an important battle in Islamic history as it was fought between Muslims and non-Muslims. This hadith shows us that we should always remember those who have sacrificed their lives for our religion and honor them by praising them. We should also be thankful to Allah for giving us such brave warriors who were willing to fight for our faith.
