The Value of Accepting Gifts

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) encouraged people to accept gifts, even if they are small.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah said, "He who is presented with a flower of sweet basil should not reject it, because it is light in weight and pleasant in odour". Muslim.
عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه، قال‏:‏ قال رسول الله ‏:‏ “من عرض عليه ريحان، فلا يرده، فإنه خفيف المحمل طيب الريح‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه مسلم‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏
