Standing While Tying Shoes Forbidden

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) forbade tying up one's shoe while standing.

Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah forbade a person wearing (tying up) his shoe while standing. Abu Dawud with a good Isnad.

The hadith narrated by Jabir ibn Abdullah al-Ansari states that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ prohibited tying up one's shoes while standing. It is also a reminder to us that we should not take any action without first considering its implications and consequences. We should always strive to act with wisdom and caution in all matters, even something as seemingly insignificant as tying up our shoes. Furthermore, this hadith serves as an example for us on how we should conduct ourselves in public; it teaches us that we should be mindful of our behavior and not do anything which may be considered inappropriate or disrespectful in public settings.
