Dyeing Hair and Avoiding Black Colour

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) advised Abu Quhafah, the father of Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with them), to dye his white hair and avoid black colour.

Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him) said: Abu Quhafah, father of Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with them) was presented to the Messenger of Allah on the day of the conquest of Makkah and his head and beard were snow white. The Messenger of Allah said, "Change it (ie, dye it and avoid black colour)". Muslim.
عن جابر رضي الله عنه قال‏:‏ أتي بأبي قحافة والد أبي بكر الصديق رضي الله عنهما يوم فتح مكة ورأسه ولحيته كالثغامة بياضًا، فقال رسول الله ‏:‏ ‏ "‏غيروا هذا واجتنبوا السواد‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه مسلم‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the advice given by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to Abu Quhafah, the father of Abu Bakr. The Prophet ﷺ saw that his head and beard were snow white and told him to dye it but not with black colour. This hadith teaches us that we should take care of our appearance in a way that is pleasing to Allah SWT. We should also follow the advice of our beloved prophet Muhammad ﷺ as he was sent as a mercy for all mankind. Furthermore, this hadith also teaches us about modesty in our appearance which is an important part of Islamic teachings.
