Number of Warriors in Battle of Badr

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the number of Emigrant warriors and Ansar who participated in the battle of Badr.

Narrated Al-Bara: I and Ibn 'Umar were considered too young (to take part) in the battle of Badr, and the number of the Emigrant warriors were over sixty (men) and the Ansar were over 249.
حَدَّثَنِي مَحْمُودٌ، حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبٌ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ، قَالَ اسْتُصْغِرْتُ أَنَا وَابْنُ عُمَرَ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ، وَكَانَ الْمُهَاجِرُونَ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ نَيِّفًا عَلَى سِتِّينَ، وَالأَنْصَارُ نَيِّفًا وَأَرْبَعِينَ وَمِائَتَيْنِ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by Al-Bara and Ibn 'Umar, two companions of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It talks about the number of warriors who participated in the battle of Badr which was fought between Muslims and pagans. The Muslims were represented by over sixty emigrants from Makkah and over 249 ansars from Madinah. This hadith highlights the importance that Muslims should place on unity, strength in numbers, courage, bravery and faith when facing difficult situations or battles. It also teaches us to be prepared for any situation that may arise as well as to have faith that Allah will always be with us no matter what we face.
