Encouragement Through Reminding of Ancestry

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) encouraged a group of people to shoot arrows, reminding them that their father Isma'il was an archer.

Salamah bin Al-Akwa (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet happened to pass by a group of people who were having a shooting match. (Upon seeing them, he ) said, "Shoot, O sons of (Prophet) Isma'il, for your father was an archer". Al- Bukhari.
وعن سلمه بن الأكوع، رضي الله عنه قال‏:‏ مر النبي على نفر ينتضلون، فقال‏:‏ ‏ "‏ارموا بني إسماعيل فإن أباكم كان راميًا‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه البخاري‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏
