The Strength of Archery

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) advised to prepare for battle with as much strength as possible, emphasizing the importance of archery.

'Uqbah bin 'Amir Al-Juhani (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah saying from the pulpit, "Prepare to meet them (the enemy) with as much strength as you can afford. Verily! Strength is in archery, strength is in archery, strength is in archery". Muslim.
وعن أبي حماد- ويقال‏:‏ أبو سعاد، ويقال‏:‏ أبو أسد، ويقال‏:‏ أبو عامر، ويقال‏:‏ أبو عمرو، ويقال‏:‏ أبو الأسود، ويقال‏:‏ أبو عبس- عقبة بن عامر الجهني، رضي الله عنه قال‏:‏ سمعت رسول الله وهو على المنبر يقول‏:‏ “وأعدوا لهم ما استطعتم من قوة ألا إن القوة الرمي، ألا إن القوة الرمي، ألا إن القوة الرمي‏"‏‏.‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه مسلم‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏ وعنه قال‏:‏ سمعت رسول الله يقول‏:‏ ‏"‏ستفتح عليكم أرضون ويكفيكم الله فلا يعجز أحدكم أن يلهو بأسهمه‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه مسلم‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏
