Rewarding Generosity During Fasting

SUMMARY: Providing food to a fasting person is equal in reward to the one who was observing the fast.

Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhani (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet said, "He who provides a fasting person something with which to break his fast, will earn the same reward as the one who was observing the fast, without diminishing in any way the reward of the latter". At-Tirmidhi.

QUICK LESSONS:
Provide food for someone who is fasting.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the great reward that comes with providing food for someone who is fasting. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that whoever provides something for a fasting person to break their fast will receive the same reward as if they were fasting themselves. This teaches us about generosity and gratitude; it encourages us to be generous and thankful when we are given something from others. It also reminds us of how important it is to help those in need and how much Allah rewards those who do so.
