Riyad as-Salihin 1222 (Book 8, Hadith 232) #37711
Generosity of Prophet Muhammad During Ramadan

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the most generous of all people, especially during the month of Ramadan when he was visited by Jibril and recited the Quran to him.

Ibn 'Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah was the most generous of the men; and he was the most generous during the month of Ramadan when Jibril visited him every night and recited the Qur'an to him. During this period, the generosity of Messenger of Allah waxed faster than the rain bearing wind. Al-Bukhari and Muslim.

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Ibn 'Abbas tells us about the generosity of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). During the month of Ramadan, which is a special month in Islam, Jibril would visit him every night and recite the Quran to him. This made his generosity even greater than that of a wind that brings rain. It teaches us that we should strive to emulate his example and give charity generously during this blessed month. We should also take advantage of this time to increase our knowledge by reading more Quranic verses and understanding its teachings better.
