Riyad as-Salihin 1212 (Book 8, Hadith 222) #37701
Worship Allah for Entrance into Jannah

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) told a bedouin that if he wanted to enter Jannah, he should worship Allah alone, establish Salat, pay Zakat and observe Saum of Ramadan.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: A bedouin came to the Prophet and said: "O Messenger of Allah! Direct me to a deed by which I may be entitled to enter Jannah". The Prophet said, "Worship Allah, and never associate anything with Him, establish Salat, pay the Zakat which has been enjoined upon you, and observe Saum of Ramadan". He (the bedouin) said: "By Him in Whose Hand my soul is, I will never add anything to these (obligations)". When he turned his back, the Prophet said, "He who wants to see a man from the dwellers of Jannah, let him look at him (bedouin)". Al- Bukhari and Muslim.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of worshipping Allah and following His commands in order to be able to enter Jannah. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was asked by a bedouin how he could be entitled to enter Jannah and the Prophet ﷺ replied that he should worship Allah alone, establish Salat or prayer five times a day, pay Zakat or charity which has been enjoined upon him and observe Saum or fasting during Ramadan. These are all important acts of worship which Muslims must do in order to please Allah and gain entrance into Jannah. It is also important for Muslims to remember that they must not associate anything with Allah as this is considered shirk or polytheism which will prevent them from entering Jannah.
