The Rewards of Tarawih Prayers

SUMMARY: Praying Tarawih prayers during Ramadan with sincerity and in the hope of reward will lead to forgiveness of past sins.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah said, "He who observes optional prayer (Tarawih prayers) throughout Ramadan, out of sincerity of Faith and in the hope of earning reward will have his past sins pardoned". Al- Bukhari and Muslim.
عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه، أن رسول الله قال‏:‏ ‏ "‏من قام رمضان إيمانًا واحتسابًا غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه‏"‏‏.‏ ‏(‏‏(‏متفق عليه‏)‏‏)‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the rewards that come from praying optional prayer known as tarawih during the holy month of Ramadan. It is narrated by Abu Hurairah who was a companion of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ said that whoever prays tarawih with sincerity and in the hope of earning reward will have their past sins pardoned. This means that Allah will forgive them for any wrongdoings they may have done before this time. This hadith teaches us to be mindful and sincere when we pray so that we can reap its rewards and benefit from it spiritually. It also encourages us to take advantage of this blessed month by performing extra acts of worship such as tarawih prayer which can help us gain Allah’s forgiveness for our past mistakes.
