QUICK LESSONS:
Perform two Rak'ah of voluntary prayer before obligatory Maghrib prayer with mindfulness and dedication

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith encourages Muslims to perform two Rak'ah of voluntary prayer before the obligatory Maghrib prayer. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ repeated this instruction three times, and then added that those who wish may do so. This is an example of a Sunnah, or a practice that is encouraged but not mandatory in Islam. It is believed that performing these extra prayers can bring additional blessings from Allah and help one become closer to Him. Additionally, it serves as an opportunity for believers to express their gratitude for all the blessings they have been given in life.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also taught us about the importance of being mindful and conscious when we pray; he said “When you stand up for prayer, perform ablution properly” [Al-Bukhari]. Therefore, it is important to take time out from our busy lives and dedicate ourselves fully when we pray so that we can reap its full benefits.
