Riyad as-Salihin 1090 (Book 8, Hadith 100) #37579
Staying in Line for Unity

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught his followers to stay in line and not be out of line, as it would lead to disagreement among them. Allah and His angels bless those who are in the first rows.

Al-Bara' bin 'Azib (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah used to pass between the rows from one end to the other, touching our chest and shoulders (ie, arranging the rows) in line and saying, "Do not be out of line; otherwise your hearts will be in disagreement". He would add, "Allah and His angels invoke blessings upon the first rows". Abu Dawud.

QUICK LESSONS:
Stay together as a community; maintain unity amongst ourselves; strive for cooperation; receive blessings from God

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Al-Bara' bin 'Azib teaches us the importance of staying in line and being united. This is because when we are united, our hearts will be at peace with each other and Allah will bless us for it. The Prophet Muhammad also taught us that Allah and His angels invoke blessings upon those who are in the first rows, which shows how important it is to stay together as a community. We should strive to maintain unity amongst ourselves so that we can receive these blessings from Allah.
