Riyad as-Salihin 1063 (Book 8, Hadith 73) #37552
Rewarded for Waiting for Night Prayer

SUMMARY: This hadith explains that those who wait for the night prayer ('Isha') will be rewarded as if they were engaged in prayer throughout the period of their waiting.

Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Once the Messenger of Allah delayed the night prayer ('Isha') till midnight. He turned to us after Salat (prayer) and said, "The people slept after performing their Salat, but you who waited, will be accounted as engaged in Salat throughout the period of your waiting". Al-Bukhari.
