QUICK LESSONS:
Respond politely when greeted by people from other faiths.
EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that when we are greeted by people from other faiths, we should respond with ‘Wa ‘alaikum’ which is an Arabic phrase meaning ‘and upon you’. This hadith teaches us to be respectful and polite in our interactions with others regardless of their faith or beliefs. It also encourages us to show kindness and respect towards those who may not share our beliefs as this is a sign of good character and a way for us to build bridges between different communities. We can learn from this hadith that it is important for us to treat everyone equally and fairly regardless of their background or religion.
