Greeting Children in Islam

SUMMARY: Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) used to greet children when he passed by them.

Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that he passed by some children and greeted them. Then he said: "Messenger of Allah used to do the same". Al-Bukhari and Muslim.
عن أنس رضي الله عنه أنه مر على صبيان، فسلم عليهم، وقال‏:‏ كان رسول الله يفعله” ‏(‏‏(‏متفق عليه‏)‏‏)‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of greeting children in Islam. It was narrated by Anas ibn Malik who said that he passed by some children and greeted them. He then said that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to do the same when he passed by children. This hadith teaches us to show respect and kindness towards all people, especially young ones as they are more vulnerable and need our protection. We should always greet them with a salam whenever we pass by them or meet them so they can feel loved and appreciated. Furthermore, this hadith also encourages us to follow in the footsteps of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as an example for how we should treat others with kindness and respect regardless of their age or status in society.
