QUICK LESSONS:
Sit down quietly at the back or side when attending public gatherings; Listen attentively; Respect elders and those who are more knowledgeable than you; Show humility in public settings.

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Jabir bin Samurah (May Allah be pleased with them) tells us that whenever he and his companions attended a gathering of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), they would sit down at the end. This is an example of how we should conduct ourselves in public gatherings and shows us that humility is a virtue. It also teaches us to respect our elders and those who are more knowledgeable than us. We should not try to take up too much space or attention in such settings but rather show respect for others by sitting quietly at the back or side. This hadith also encourages us to listen attentively when attending such gatherings as this will help us learn more from those around us.
