Mention the Name of Allah when starting drinking and praise Him after finishing

This hadith teaches us that we should always remember to mention the name of Allah before doing anything. In this case it is specifically about drinking. We are instructed not to drink like a camel in one gulp but rather take two or three gulps instead. After we have finished drinking we must also remember to thank and praise Allah for providing us with sustenance.
