This hadith is a warning from Prophet Muhammad ﷺ about seeking knowledge for any purpose other than the sake of Allah. It is important to remember that all our actions should be done with an intention to please and obey Allah, and not for worldly gain or recognition. If we seek knowledge only because it will benefit us in this life, then we are not doing it for the right reasons and will be punished in the hereafter.
