Sunan Ibn Majah 198 (Book) #37100
The Day of Judgement

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the Day of Judgement when Allah will seize the heavens and earth in His Hand and ask where are the tyrants and arrogant.

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Umar said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah say, when he was on the pulpit: 'The Compeller will seize the heavens and the earth in His Hand' and he clenched his fist and began to open and close it. Then He will say: "I am the Compeller! Where are the tyrants? Where are the arrogant?" He said, the Messenger of Allah was turning to his right and to his left, until he saw the pulpit moving from below and I thought: 'What if it falls with the Messenger of Allah on it?'"

QUICK LESSONS:
Do good deeds, Be humble

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the Day of Judgement when Allah will take control of everything. On that day He will ask where are those who have been oppressive or arrogant. It is a reminder to us to be humble and not oppress others as we do not know what will happen on that day. We should also remember that Allah knows all our deeds so we should strive to do good deeds in this life so that we can be rewarded on the Day of Judgement. We should also remember to always be humble and never think too highly of ourselves as arrogance is something which displeases Allah greatly.
