The Mercy of Allah

SUMMARY: Allah's mercy is greater than His wrath.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Your Lord wrote for Himself with His Own Hand before He created the creation: "My mercy precedes My wrath".
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ عِيسَى، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلاَنَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ ـ ‏ "‏ كَتَبَ رَبُّكُمْ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ بِيَدِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْلُقَ الْخَلْقَ رَحْمَتِي سَبَقَتْ غَضَبِي

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the mercy of Allah, which is greater than His wrath. It was narrated by Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said, “Your Lord wrote for Himself with His Own Hand before He created the creation, ‘My mercy precedes My wrath’”. This hadith teaches us that no matter how angry or upset we may be with someone, we should always remember to show them mercy and kindness first. We should never forget that Allah's mercy is greater than His wrath and He will always forgive us if we repent sincerely. We must also remember to show others the same kind of compassion and understanding that we would want from them in return.
