The Blessing of Seeing Allah in Paradise

SUMMARY: This hadith speaks of the people of Paradise being blessed with a light from Allah and being able to look upon Him, but then He will screen Himself from them.

It was narrated that Jabor bin 'Abdullah said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'While the people of Paradise are enjoying their blessings, a light will shine upon them, and they will raise their heads, and they will see their Lord looking upon them from above. He will say: "Peace be upon you, O people of Paradise". This is what Allah says in the Verse: "Salam (peace be upon you) - a Word from the Lord (Allah), The Most Merciful". He will look at them, and they will look at Him, and they will not pay any attention to the delights (of Paradise) so long as they look at Him, until He will screen Himself from them. But His light and blessing will remain with them in their bodies'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive for good deeds so you can receive rewards in Paradise
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the blessings that await those who enter paradise. It is narrated by Jabor bin 'Abdullah that the Prophet Muhammad said that when people are enjoying their blessings in paradise, a light will shine upon them and they will be able to see their Lord looking down on them from above. He will greet them with peace and they won't pay attention to anything else until He screens Himself from them. However, His light and blessing will remain with them even after He has screened Himself away. This is similar to what Allah says in the Quran where He says “Salam” which means peace be upon you as a word from Him, The Most Merciful.

This hadith teaches us about how great the reward for those who enter paradise is going to be; they get to see their Lord looking down on them! It also teaches us about how merciful Allah is; even though we can't see Him here on earth, we know that one day we may get to experience His mercy if we are among those who enter paradise. Furthermore, it reminds us of how important it is for us to strive for good deeds so that one day we may have this great reward awaiting us in paradise!
