The Superiority of Paradise

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was given a gift of a length of silk fabric and the people were admiring it. He then said that the handkerchief of Sa'd bin Mu'adh in Paradise is better than this.

It was narrated that Bara' bin 'Azib said: "The Messenger of Allah was given a gift of a length of silk fabric. The people started passing it around to one another. The Messenger of Allah said: 'Are you admiring this?' They said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah'. He said: 'By the One in Whose Hand is my soul! The handkerchief of Sa'd bin Mu'adh in Paradise is better than this'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive for good deeds so we can enter Jannah and receive its blessings from Allah SWT .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the superiority of Paradise over worldly possessions. It was narrated by Bara' bin 'Azib that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was given a gift of a length of silk fabric and the people were admiring it. He then said that the handkerchief of Sa'd bin Mu'adh in Paradise is better than this. This hadith teaches us to be content with what we have and not to be envious or jealous over others’ possessions as they are nothing compared to what Allah has prepared for us in Jannah. We should strive for good deeds so we can enter Jannah and receive its blessings from Allah SWT which will be far greater than anything we can imagine here on earth.
