Treat your spouses fairly and justly; Respect your spouses; Love your spouses; Provide financial support for your spouses; Be kind towards your spouses; Show compassion towards your spouses.

This hadith is about the importance of treating one's wives equally. It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet met 'Uthman at the door of the mosque and said, "O 'Uthman! Jibril has told me that Allah married you to Umm Kulthum for a dowry like that of Ruqayya, provided that you treat her as you treated Ruqayya". This means that Allah commanded Uthman to treat his two wives equally in terms of their dowries and treatment. The Prophet was reminding Uthman of this commandment from Allah so he would not forget it or neglect it. This hadith teaches us an important lesson about marriage - husbands should always strive to be fair and just when dealing with their wives, treating them all equally in terms of love, respect, kindness, financial support and other matters related to marriage.
