The Four Pillars of Faith

SUMMARY: The essence of this hadith is that true faith in Allah requires belief in four things: the oneness of Allah, the prophethood of Muhammad (PBUH), resurrection after death, and divine decree.

It was narrated that 'Ali said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'No slave truly believes until he believes in four things: in Allah alone with no partner; that I am the Messenger of Allah; in the resurrection after death; and in the Divine Decree (Qadar)'."

Secondly, one must believe that Prophet Muhammad was sent by God as a messenger to guide humanity to the right path. Thirdly, one must believe in resurrection after death; this means that everyone will be brought back to life on the Day of Judgment and will be held accountable for their deeds during their lifetime.
