Sunan Ibn Majah 79 (Book) #36981
Striving for Benefit and Accepting Allah's Decree

SUMMARY: The hadith emphasizes the importance of having faith in Allah and not feeling helpless when faced with difficult situations. It also encourages people to strive for what is beneficial and to accept whatever Allah has decreed.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, although both are good. Strive for that which will benefit you, seek the help of Allah, and do not feel helpless. If anything befalls you, do not say, "if only I had done such and such" rather say "Qaddara Allahu wa ma sha'a fa'ala (Allah has decreed and whatever he wills, He does)". For (saying) 'If' opens (the door) to the deeds of Satan'."

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith emphasizes the importance of having faith in Allah and trusting that He will provide us with what is best for us. It encourages us to strive for what is beneficial and not feel helpless when faced with difficult situations. Instead of questioning why something happened or wishing it could have been different, we should accept whatever Allah has decreed as it is His will that prevails over all else. We should remember that anything which befalls us was already written by Him before it even happened so we must trust in His plan even if we don't understand it at the time. Furthermore, this hadith warns against giving into temptation from Satan who seeks to lead people astray by making them question God's decisions or wish things were different than they are.
