Commanded to Fight for Faith

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was commanded to fight people until they testify that there is no god but Allah and that he is the Messenger of Allah, and to establish regular prayer and pay Zakat.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'I have been commanded to fight the people until they testify to La ilaha ill-allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah) and that I am the Messenger of Allah, and establish regular prayers and pay Zakat'."

Additionally, he was told to establish regular prayer and pay zakat. This hadith teaches us about the importance of faith in God as well as the importance of prayer and charity.
