The Piety of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)

SUMMARY: Abdullah bin Mas'ud encourages people to think of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) as being the best, most rightly guided and most pious.

Abdullah bin Mas'ud said: "When I tell you of a Hadith from the Messenger of Allah , then think of the Messenger of Allah as being the best, the utmost rightly guided and the one with the utmost Taqwa (piety, righteousness)".
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْخَلاَّدِ الْبَاهِلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلاَنَ، أَنْبَأَنَا عَوْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ إِذَا حَدَّثْتُكُمْ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ ـ فَظُنُّوا بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ ـ الَّذِي هُوَ أَهْنَاهُ وَأَهْدَاهُ وَأَتْقَاهُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the piety and righteousness of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). It was narrated by Abdullah bin Mas'ud who was one of the companions of the Prophet. He encourages people to think highly and revere the Messenger of Allah, believing him to be the best, most rightly guided and most pious person. This hadith teaches us that we should always remember how great a role model our beloved prophet was for us in terms of his piety, righteousness and guidance. We should strive to emulate his example in our own lives so that we can become better Muslims ourselves.
