Obeying the Prophet within Ability

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) instructed his followers to obey him as much as they are able.

Malik related to me from Abdullah ibn Dinar that Abdullah ibn Umar said, "When we took an oath of allegiance with him to hear and obey, the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to us, 'In what you are able'. "

This hadith teaches us that it is important to be honest with ourselves and our capabilities, and not overextend ourselves in order to please others or fulfill obligations.
