Cooling Fever with Water

SUMMARY: Fever is a result of the heat of Hell, and can be cooled with water.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham ibn Urwa from his father that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Fever is from the vehemence of the heat of Jahannam, so cool it with water".

QUICK LESSONS:
Take care of one's health , Use natural remedies for illnesses , Do good deeds .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains that fever is caused by the intense heat of Hell, and can be cooled by using water. The Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, taught us this lesson to remind us that we should take care of our health and use natural remedies to treat illnesses. He also wanted to remind us that we should not take our health for granted as it is a blessing from Allah. By cooling fever with water, we are reminded to stay away from sin as it will lead us closer to Hellfire if we do not repent for our sins. We must strive to do good deeds in order to stay away from the punishment of Hellfire in the hereafter.
