Reciting Quran for Healing

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) would recite the last three surahs of the Quran and blow over himself when he had a complaint, and A'isha would do the same for him when his pain was great.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Urwa ibn az- Zubayr from A'isha that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, when he had a complaint, would recite the last three surahs of Qur'an, over himself and blow. She said, "When his pain was great, I would recite it over him and wipe him with his right hand hoping for its blessing".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about how reciting the last three surahs of the Qur’an can be used as a form of healing. It is narrated by Yahya from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Urwa ibn az-Zubayr from A'isha that whenever Prophet Muhammad ﷺ had a complaint or was in pain, he would recite these three surahs and blow over himself. Similarly, when his pain was too great to bear on his own, A'isha would recite them over him and wipe him with his right hand hoping for its blessing. This shows us that reciting these verses can be used as a form of healing both physically and spiritually. It also teaches us to have faith in Allah's words and seek solace in them during times of difficulty or distress.
