Being Generous to Ourselves

SUMMARY: Allah has been generous to us, so we should be generous to ourselves and wear a combination of our garments.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ayyub ibn Abi Tamim that Ibn Sirin said, ''Umar ibn al-Khattab said, 'Allah has been generous to you, so be generous to yourselves. Let a man wear a combination of his garments'. "

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about being generous to ourselves. Allah has been generous in giving us blessings and favors so we should also be generous with ourselves. Umar ibn al-Khattab encourages us to wear a combination of our garments as an act of generosity towards ourselves. This means that we should not be too hard on ourselves by wearing the same clothes every day or not taking care of our appearance. We can show generosity towards ourselves by wearing different combinations of clothing and taking care of how we look. It is important for us to take care of our physical appearance as it reflects how much respect we have for ourselves and others around us.

This hadith also teaches us the importance of gratitude towards Allah for His blessings and favors upon us. We must remember that all good things come from Him and He has given generously without expecting anything in return from us except that we use His gifts wisely and responsibly. By being grateful for what He has given us, it will help remind us to be generous with others as well as with ourselves in order for everyone around us benefit from His generosity too!
